SUN MUSHROOM – Blazein, a compound present in the Sun Mushroom (Agaricus blazei Murrill), has demonstrated cytotoxic and antiangiogenic capacity in lung carcinoma cell lines (Itoh et al; 2008). This extract also stimulates appetite and acts favorably in cases of alopecia, emotional stability and general weakness, in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment (Ah et al; 2004).

MAITAKE – Grifola frondosa extract is capable of producing symptomatic improvements or cancer regression in 58.3% of patients with liver cancer (Kodama et al; 2002). In addition, it reduces the number of metastatic nodules in the lung in animal models (Masuda et al; 2008).

SHIITAKE - Beta-glucans from Lentinula edodes are capable of reducing the viability of lung adenocarcinoma cells, in combination with radiotherapy treatments (Lo et al; 2011). Similarly, similar effects have been observed with certain proteins from this mushroom (Liu et al; 2012).

CORDYCEPS
Bioactive compounds from Cordyceps (Cordyceps sp.) have strong antioxidant and cytotoxic activity against lung adenocarcinoma cell lines (Lee et al., 2015). Other polysaccharides from this same fungus are capable of increasing cisplatin activity in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines (Ji et al., 2011).
